Senior Software Engineer
Diegem, BEOur client is looking for a Senior Software Solutions Engineer to join our team in Diegem for a one-year assignment. This hybrid role (50% onsite) offers the opportunity to work on impactful internal software solutions that drive efficiency and innovation across the organization.

As a Senior Software Solutions Engineer, you’ll:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for new and existing software solutions.
- Align development efforts with business strategies and objectives.
- (Co-)Design, develop, test, and deploy internal applications using modern programming languages and technologies.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and system enhancements.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve existing applications for performance, security, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver efficient solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.
- Share knowledge, contribute to team development, and help refine workflows.
- Work closely with IT, business departments, and leadership to achieve common goals.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Co-create technical and user documentation and provide training on internal tools.
Required technical skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and RPG ILE (Free), including embedded SQL
- Experience with IBM Rational Developer and IBM Data Studio
- Familiarity with VSCode, XML/JSON, and MS Office
- Understanding of communication methods on I-Series: MQ Series, FTP, DDM, IFS
- RPG400 or older
- Webservices/SOAP
- IBM APIs
- ARCAD or other software change management systems
- Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Full Stack Development
- Java Development
